- Document clearly what and why you want to learn. Document the expertise you want to gain on that subject, how you see yourself with that subject
- Deconstruct the skill to sub skills and practice the most important sub skill that you will need to use first.
- Then research just enough to understand the important sub skills. Also research on how you can self correct that skill. But books, courses, sme's. They help you deconstruct the Skill. Dont go through them end to end. Find sub skills that are repeatedly taught in those different sources.
- Remove distraction that do not allow you. Set specific time for this activity. Make the start of the activity easy, like keep guitar next to you on a stand in hall.
- Pre commit on 20 hrs that you are going spend on this Skill. Why is this important - because early hours are difficult for every skill for everyone. Pre committing 20 hrs helps you get over this mountain or resistance. Most of all do it daily.
- Ukkelle for eg, - skills requiring motor skill - the best time is to practice just before going to bed everyday for 40 mins for 20 days. Research shows that this is best way to help for next day.
- With deconstruction of a skill - if you feel its too simple - then usually you are right at deconstructing
- Power law of practice - the initial hours are the most you learn of any skill.
- The advantage of 20 hours is - the target does not seem overwhelming

Children tips
*Tirukkural by Tiruvalluvar (a Tamil poet/writer) was written more than 5,000 yrs ago. It’s one of the ancient science on Human Behaviour, which has not changed in spite of modern education & technology!*
*SOME GOLDEN THOUGHTS OF THIRUKKURAL:*
1. *If your child lies to you often, it is because you over-react too harshly to their inappropriate behaviour.*
2. *If your child is not taught to confide in you about their mistakes, you’ve lost them.*
3. *If your child had poor self-esteem, it is because you advice them more than you encourage them.*
4. *If your child does not stand up for themselves, it is because from a young age you have disciplined them regularly in public.*
5. *If your child takes things that do not belong to them, it is because when you buy them things, you don’t let them chose what they want.*
6. *If your child is cowardly, it is because you help them too quickly.*
7. *If your child does not respect other people’s feelings, it is because instead of speaking to your child, you order & command them.*
8. *If your child is too quick to anger, it is because you give too much attention to misbehaviour & you give little attention to good behaviour.*
9. *If your child is excessively jealous, it is because you only congratulate them when they successfully complete something & not when they improve at something even if they don’t successfully complete it*
10. *If your child intentionally disturbs you, it is because you are not physically affectionate enough.*
11. *If your child is openly defiant, it is because you openly threaten to do something but don’t follow through.*
12. *If your child is secretive, it is because they don’t trust that you won’t blow things out of proportion.*
13. *If your child talks back to you, it is because they watch you do it to others & think its normal behaviour.*
14. *If your child doesn’t listen to you but listens to others, it is because you are too quick to jump to conclusions*
15. *If your child rebels it is because they know you care more about what others think than what is right*

We do not expect our son to beg
We must learn to get out of these clutches and, what should I say, the lies that have been forced upon us through religious teachings. All religions all over the world - they are teaching us the same thing. God is not here, please pray on your knees, humble yourself. I mean a mere father doesn't want his son coming grovelling to him on his knees and say, "Daddy can I have a couple of bucks." He would say, "Who the hell are you! Are you my son? Come on, get up, stand up on your two damn feet, man?" Wouldn't you say it? I would not like my son grovelling before me in the dust and beating his chest, with ashes on his forehead. Would you do it? So how do you think God will like your grovelling in the dust and beating your breast, and wailing? He wants us coming erect with our head held up and saying, "I am your son. Whatever I am, I am that."
A son has this place in this home; this home is mine because it is my father's. I don't have to grovel and have doors opened to me by priests whom I have to bribe. I don't have to buy a lot in some graveyard to be buried in. What for?
